We believe that experiencing the landscapes of the West Coast comes with a responsibility to help protect them.
That’s why we’re proud to announce our support of the Ōkārito Plant Project, community-led initiative dedicated to restoring native forests, wetlands, and waterways across this remarkable part of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Our flights take us above ancient glaciers, braided rivers and rainforest. From the snowfields of the Southern Alps to the Tasman Sea, these landscapes are deeply connected. What begins as ice high in the mountains flows through ecosystems that sustain wildlife, communities, and livelihoods along the West Coast.
By partnering with the Ōkārito Plant Project, we’re helping support the long-term health of these environments through hands-on restoration and native planting initiatives.
The project brings together local businesses, landowners, volunteers, and visitors to make a real difference on the ground. Native plants grown locally at the Ōkārito Nursery are replanted throughout the region, helping improve biodiversity, strengthen waterways, and restore natural habitats from the mountains to the coast.
For our team, this partnership is about actively contributing to the future of the place we call home.
As part of this initiative, guests flying with us will also have the opportunity to contribute to the Ōkārito Plant Project during their scenic flight experience. Together, we can help ensure these landscapes remain wild, healthy, and inspiring for generations to come.
