Mount Cook

Aoraki/Mount Cook dominates the Southern Alps mountain range that divides New Zealand's South Island. The Helicopter Line's Mount Cook base operates from Glentanner Park, situated only 15 minutes drive from the Aoraki/Mount Cook Village and the Hermitage Hotel, and 20 minutes along State Highway 80 after turning off State Highway 8 between Christchurch and Queenstown. The Helicopter Line also operates from Twizel township, alongside SH8 between Queenstown and Christchurch.

SCENIC FLIGHTS FROM GLENTANNER
 


Mountains High - HLC2
Our premier flight over this amazing alpine region with vast snowfields, glaciers and a spectacular view of New Zealand's highest peak, Aoraki/Mount Cook. Experience this magnificent alpine environment with a high alpine flight over the Ben Ohau Mountains. Fly close to the steep ridges and rise over a mountain pass which reveals superb views out to Aoraki/Mount Cook and its surrounding peaks. Prepare yourself for an amazing alpine landing where you will be able to step out of the helicopter and play in the snow.

Alpine Vista - HLC5
This short scenic option is the ideal opportunity to touch snow and experience the thrill of a helicopter flight. Sweep through the rugged high country landscape of the Ben Ohau Mountain Range to a landing site on a snow field high in the mountains. Enjoy the fantastic vista from this alpine setting as you look out to the mountains and glaciers, and down into the valleys that were carved out by glaciers centuries ago.

Aoraki/Mount Cook Discovery - HLT3
Take a flight to the awesome south face of Aoraki/Mount Cook. Your helicopter will fly you to the heart of the Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park via the Ben Ohau Mountain Range, viewing spectacular hanging glaciers and rivers of moving ice. On your way home enjoy a snow landing, marvel at the mountains soaring around you and take that special snapshot. Then descend beside the beautiful turquoise hues of the glacially fed Lake Pukaki to complete a flight we promise you will never forget.

Alpine Scenic Flight - HLT2
Pack in spectacular alpine scenery with this flight over the rugged Ben Ohau Mountain Range and into the towering Neumann Range. Combine this with the beautiful mountain lake views and a snow landing on the Glenmary Glacier. Step out onto a carpet of snow and snap that special photograph. This flight also includes stunning views of New Zealand's highest peaks.

Alpine Express - HLT1
If you have time for an 'out of this world' experience in less than half an hour, then this flight is for you. This majestic flight will land you amongst the jewels of the Southern Alps. Dramatic mountains expose their rugged faces and snow clad spines. Enjoy spectacular views into the Mackenzie Basin and over Lake Pukaki before an alpine landing overlooking ancient glacial terrain. Take time out on top of the world!
